In the final year of semaphore signalling in the area, InterCity 125 HST headed by Class 43 power car No. 43118 drifts into Leicester, past Leicester North Signal Box, with a Sheffield - London St Pancras service on 28th July 1985. The signal box was closed on 29th June 1986 with the introduction of power signalling.
