BR Standard Class 4MT 4-6-0 No. 75069 accelerates through Churchdown on 27th April 1994 on 'The Exmoor Explorer' special from Worcester Shrub Hill to Taunton. The special was used to get the loco to the West Somerset Railway for a working visit. New from Swindon Works in September 1955 and first allocated to Dover (74C), it was withdrawn from Eastleigh (70D) in September 1966 after a service life of just eleven years. Luckily, the loco went to the Woodham Bros scrapyard at Barry, from where it was rescued for preservation. It is currently undergoing restoration to working order at the Severn Vallet Railway.
