Class 45/0 No. 45055 'Royal Corps of Transport' heads a down express running past the site of Norton Fitzwarren station on 11th April 1977. The apparently disused track in the foreground gave access to the West Somerset Railway and the long-closed GWR Barnstaple branch. The vacant trackbed on the other side of the main was the site of a former down relief line which featured in one of the worst accidents on the GWR in the early days of WW2.
