The closure of the WCML at Warrington Bank Quay station over the Easter Holiday saw freight diversions taking place.One such working on 5th April 2021, was the 1210 Carlisle to Chirk Kronospan, which was routed via the Blackburn to Bolton line, and is seen here passing Darwen hauled by Class70 No. 70817. This is believed to be the first freight working over this line for many years.
