During the weekend of 24-2 6th May 2014, the Didcot Railway Centre held a Diesel Gala with various visiting locomotives as well as their own fleet. Pictured here on 24th May is one of the the visiting locomotives, Deltic 55002 The Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry from the National Railway Museum. It was interesting to find out why this loco was chosen for the Museum from the Deltic Fleet, as the then Director was Dr John Coiley and the initials of 55002 were KOYLI, sounding very much like the directors surname.
