Class 47/7 No. 47706 Srathclyde enters Edinburgh Waverley Staion with one of the regular Mk3 formed Glasgow to Edinburgh push pull trains in mid May 1983. Still wearing standard BR blue livery at this time she had been delivered new to Cardiff Canton Depot as D1936 in March 1966. Converted first to an ETH loco as 47494 in February 1974 then push pull equipped 47706 in May 1979 47706 was allocated to Haymarket MPD Edinburgh at this time. She would remain in service until withdrawn from Crewe Diesel Depot in May 1995. Scrapping was undertaken at Crewe Works by MRJ Phillips during August 1995.
