Twenty years have elapsed since two BDZ PP SKODA 68E electric locomotives were sent to Croatia for modernisation by KONCAR at the Zagreb facility. The conversion was considered not to be a great success with only 44-001 and 44-002 being so treated, the pair entering traffic in 2003 in a revised livery of Express blue and yellow paintwork. The revised body shell layout involved the repositioning of the drivers side cab door further aft as is clearly evident here. Captured at Sandanski on a somewhat dull 15th May 2023 loco 44-002 is heading north with service SUB50242 (13:40) Petrich to Blagoevgrad.
