Preserved Class 40 No. 40145 heads away from Hellifield down the Ribble Valley line on 17th June 2023 with the 15.15 Carlisle - Leeds via the S and C, Preston, Manchester Victoria, Sheffield and Barnsley, a returning Northern Belle railtour which had operated outbound via the reverse route to Preston and then the WCML to Carlisle. The Class 40 was again substituting for unavailable steam traction and WCRC Class 57 No. 57313 Scarborough Castle was on the rear.
