On 26th February 2023 SAR Class 19D 4-8-2 locomotive No. 3322 'Clare', built by the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow in 1948, passes Ridgemor Villa, Cape Town in the Western Cape, with the Ceres Rail Company rail charter from Cape Town to Elgin for the Elgin Market. Immediately behind are Transnet Class 35s No. 35.065 and 35.472, which will provide support and additional braking, particularly on the return trip down Sir Lowry's Pass on the journey back to Cape Town.
