First Great Western Class 43 No. 43009 leads a complete set (on-hire to Midland Mainline) passing Clay Cross on 7th June 2003, forming the 0947 Manchester Piccadilly to St Pancras 'Project Rio' service. The project provided additional services from Manchester Piccadilly to London whilst the West Coast Main Line major upgrade was in progress, and produced many variations of stock and liveries during its operation. 07.06.2003
