On the steam worked section of the South African Johannesberg-Cape Town Mainline between Kimberley and De Aar all trains called at Orange River for water and ashpan cleaning. On the morning southbound passenger train the unique Class 26 No. 3450 The Red Devil has its ashpan raked out on 3rd June 1985
