A grubby DB Cargo Class 66/0 No. 66145 passes Colton Junction, working the 05:40 Wilton Efw Terminal to Knowsley Freight Terminal Service, comprising empty 'Binliner' Wagons, on 16th March 2021. Clearly visible are the recently erected OLE masts, which will facilitate the electrification of the line between Colton Junction and Church Fenton, the first stage of the £600 million Trans-pennine upgrade on the route between Manchester, Leeds and York.
