Clifton Down station being located along the Bristol-Severn Beach line opened in 1874 and was constructed by Messrs Baker & Son of Bristol. It boasted glass canopies, a large booking hall in addition to a small goods yard adjacent to the Avonmouth bound platform. Passing through through station which now offers rather basic facilities, 'Colas' Class 66/8 No. 66846 leads sister Class 66850 'David Maidment MBE' while traversing the Bristol bound platform atop the 19:42 Bristol Kingsland Road RHTT out and back working on 17th October 2020.
