In mid April 2004 the Great Central Railway was short of steam power, so Pete Waterman loaned GWR Churchward 4500 Class 2-6-2T No. 5553 (normally based at the West Somerset Railway) for a short period, seen here leaving Loughborough with a service to Leicester North on 24th April 2004. No. 5553 was rescued from Barry scrapyard in January 1990 after 28 years storage. In 2020 No. 5553 can be found at Peak Rail awaiting overhaul.
