Around the turntable inside Barrow Hill roundhouse on 24th July 1999 were MR Johnson Class 1F 0-6-0T No. 41708 in steam, and visiting from the Bluebell Railway North London Railway 75 Class 0-6-0T No. 58850. Both locomotive were initially constructed in 1880, and worked locally to Barrow Hill; No. 41708 at Staveley Ironworks and No. 58850 on the Cromford & High Peak Railway. In 2020, now both 140 years old, the locomotives are static exhibits at their respective heritage railway sites.
