It is nearly a decade that EWS (now DB Cargo UK) indicated its intent to withdraw the then dwindling fleet of Class 60 locomotives. Since then, much has changed for the Class which have operated through DB Cargo UK, Colas Rail and latterly GB Railfreight. Around a quarter of the original fleet of 100 Class 60s have undergone extensive refurbishment to emerge under the branding as a 'Super 60' locomotive. Here at Ley Court, a 'Super 60' refurbished Class 60 No. 60092 thunders past atop the 05:05 Robeston-Westerleigh tanks. The hill of the 'Forest of Dean' forms the backdrop on a beautiful 7th February 2019.
