On the 10th November 2018, an ex SAR Class 19B, 4-8-2 coal burning locomotive No. 1412 "Bailey", built by Berliner Maschinenbau in Berlin, Germany, in 1930, is seen heading a special rail charter from Cape Town to Elgin, through Sir Lowry's Pass station. Just visible to the rear of this locomotive, is an ex SAR Class 19D oil burning 4-8-2 locomotive No. 3322 "Dominique", built by the North British Locomotive company in Glasgow in 1948. Both locomotives are Transnet Heritage Locomotives, which are now operated by the Ceres Rail Company on special rail charters in the Western Cape.
