The Severn Valley Railway held a gala event in October 2018 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the introduction of the Class 50 fleet to BR service in 1968 with 11 class members attending the celebrations. Class 50 No. 50035 Ark Royal was noted climbing Eardington Bank while working the 13:15 Kidderminster - Bridgnorth service on 5th October 2018.
