IET units are beginning to appear regularly on GWR services on the Berks & Hants line and on 14th September 2018 nine-car No. 800302 is in charge of the Paddington - Frome commuter special, after which it will return ECS to the IEP Depot outside Bristol, or tonight the North Pole Depot in West London. The train is slowing for its Hungerford stop and is about to cross the old plate girder bridge providing access between the upper and lower commons, severed by the railway in the 19th century. The bridge is about to be replaced, finally submitting to its daily pounding by 4000 tonne stone trains.
