On 18th and 19th July 2015 the Middleton Railway celebrated their anniversary of the completion of the 1st Locomotive from the Hunslet Engine Company on July 18th 1865. Here, 0-6-0 Saddle Tank, No. 7 (originally No. 2705) 'Beatrice', built in 1945 (and actually celebrating her 70th birthday on this day), initially worked at Ackton Hall Colliery at Featherstone, where she was named after the colliery manager's daughter, stands at the Middleton Park Halt Platform, having worked the late running 11:28 service from Balm Road while 0-6-0 Saddle Tank No. 19. reverses into the headshunt. Beatrice now works regularly on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway.
