Class 47/7 No. 47744 Royal Mail Cheltenham is pictured on Thunderbird duty at Ipswich on 23rd June 2001. New to 82A Bristol Bath Road as No. D1927 on 31st January 1966, it became No. 47250 under TOPS on 25th May 1974, before being fitted with Electric Train Heating and being renumbered as Class 47/4 No. 47600 on 1st November 1983. Further converted to a life-extended Class 47/7 as No. 47744 on 7th March 1994, the locomotive was withdrawn on 27th March 2004 then sold to Fragonset in June 2004. It is currently stored at Nemesis Rail, Burton on Trent.
