On July 26, 2014 the newly formed Blue Ridge Southern Railroad purchased from Norfolk Southern three branch lines that feed into Asheville, NC. Pictured working the yard adjacent to the company's headquarters in Canton, NC is EMD SD40-2 No. 4205. A large amount of traffic on this line, which runs 47 miles from Asheville to Sylva, comprises of wood chips for the Evergreen Packaging plant seen in the background.
