In the fading summer sunlight Great Western Class 47 No. 47815 Abertawe Landore waits to depart from Penzance to London Paddington on 2nd July 2002. The loco still carried the Crafty Cockney emblem which it had when the loco was a 47/1 No. 47155 allocated to Statford Depot in London. In January 1976 the CEGB hired the loco from British Rail and had it transported by road with the bogies removed to West Thurrock power station in Essex. It was to be used as a stationary generator while repairs were carried out at the power station.
