A scene which has changed dramatically in the last few days. On a pleasant Autumn day of 5th October 2013, Cross Country class 221 No. 221122 approaches the station with 1M41, the 10.00 Paignton to Manchester Piccadilly. Following recent storms the line is now closed, the trackbed and adjacent roadway near the station, having been washed away by rough seas and gales. The ice cream parlour, which can be seen to the left of the railway has now disappeared.
