The sole survivor of its Class, Stanier Class 6P5F Mogul No. 42968 sits in Barry Scrapyard on 21st November 1972, in the company of 'Jinty' No. 47298. New as No. 13286 from Crewe Works in January 1934 and first allocated to Willesden MPD, it was subsequently renumbered to 2968 in September 1935, finally becoming 42968 in December 1948. It was withdrawn from Springs Branch MPD (8F) in December 1966 and sold to Woodham's of Barry. The loco was purchased from Dai Woodham by the Stanier Mogul Fund and left Barry on 13th December 1973, bound for Bridgnorth on the Severn Valley Railway.
