On the evening of the 30th May 2013 the 6D51 Crewe Basford Hall-Toton engineers train headed by DB Schenker Class 60 No. 60059 Swinden Dalesman was brought to a halt on the up slow line at Shallowford between Norton Bridge and Stafford with 5th wagon of the High Output Ballast train well ablaze. This was the scene the following evening 31st May 2013 with the stranded train still blocking the up slow line with the burnt out wagon and spilt ballast clearly visible but with the other three running lines back in full use.
