Blue-liveried Class 31/1 No. 31106 pilots Class 55 No. 55009 'Alycidon' as the duo take the North Staffs route towards Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe at North Stafford Junction, Derbyshire on Friday 5th April 2013 while en-route as special movement 09:50 Barrow Hill LIP to Crewe HS. The 'Deltic' locomotive was being repositioned to enable it to take charge of a special charter train from Crewe to Edinburgh the following day. No. 31106 had been attached at Derby to pilot the Class 55 for operational reasons. It returned light engine to Derby later in the day.
