Wearing a version of the mid-1980s large logo livery that the class may have received had they survived in service long enough preserved Class 40 No. 40145 whistles into Stafford with a Branch Line Society, the 'Wrexham & Lancashire' Railtour on 12th June 2010, EWS Class 67 No. 67018 was out of sight on the rear. The tour started in Crewe and visited Oxley chord, Dee Marsh Birkenhead Reception Sidings, Weaste Branch as well as the East Lancs Railway to Rawtenstall
