Despite being a loco capable of supplying heat and air conditioning to the coaches Class 47/4 No. 47594 still recieved railfreight triple grey livery with metals sector markings and Thornaby Depot Kingfisher emblem on its sides. It is seen passing through Conway Station with a Holyhead to Euston service on 23rd July 1989, and would have been removed at Crewe in favour of electric traction for the remainder of the journey to London.
