Ex GWR 5600 Class, 0-6-2T, No. 6695, steams away from Corfe Castle Station on 1 April 2012. The gradient is against the locomotive, as far as Corfe Common (where this picture was taken) and the locomotive has to work fairly hard. This factor, combined with the wonderful views, make the common a good area from which to photograph the trains. Recently, the lineside vegetation has been cleared at this spot and this has further enhanced the potential of this location.
