The 1100 North Yorkshire Moors Railway departure from Whitby to Pickering on 15th June 2011 wends its way along the bank of the almost empty River Esk basin. Having passed under the modern road viaduct it will shortly pass under the old Saltburn to Scarborough railway viaduct seen at the top of the picture.
