Seen from the cab of ex US Army 1654 as it climbs away from the Rochester and Genesee Valley Railroad Museum in Rush, NY on 3rd October 2010 is ex US Army No. 1843. A Fairbanks-Morse H12-44 1200hp Switcher built in 1953 it ended its Army service at Seneca Army Depot in Romulus, New York being declared surplus in and purchased for the museum in May 1993. This is unusual as its diesel engine uses opposing pistons.
