The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway closed on 29 September 1935 and it was many years before work began to re-open this much loved narrow-gauge line. Over the weekend nearest to the 75th anniversary of the closure a gala event was arranged. The star of the show would be the replica of the Manning Wardle 2-6-2T named 'No. Lyd' built at the Boston Lodge works of the Ffestiniog Railway and only completed during 2010. This image shows 'No. Lyd' preparing to push empty stock into the shed at Woody Bay on 24th September 2010, the day before the commencement of the gala.
