The KWVR Diesel Gala, held over the weekend of June 11 - 13, gave the first opportunity to travel behind resident English Electric prototype shunter No. D0226 following its recent heavy overhaul. On June 13 the newly restored No. D0226 was paired with resident Class 20 20031 on the first round trip from Oxenhope and is seen entering Oakworth with the 10:00 Keighley - Oxenhope service. No. D0226 carried a commemorative headboard in tribute to KWVR volunteer Richard Walker who died unexpectedly in February at the age of 28 and who had been closely involved with the work on No. D0226.
