Gwen was built by Bagnalls of Stafford in the 1930’s, and was known to have worked on the Derby Riverlands Scheme. Integral equipment within the water industry, these locomotives assisted in tasks such as construction of reservoirs and water pipe lines, through to protection of riverbanks and the diversion of watercourses. Seen here at Swanwick Junction during the midland Railway’s Victorian Weekend and Vintage Trains event on 2nd May 2010.
