An early morning shot from 4th October 1982 which was a notable day at Sheffield, as the first HST departure for London St Pancras with power car No. 43056 leading, prepares for departure. For the occasion, the loco carried 'The Master Cutler' headboard, although I believe that the train was not officially named at this time. An interesting point is that over the years, the 'Master Cutler' service used 3 different London termini, initially from 1947 travelling from Sheffield Victoria to Marylebone, from 1958 to King's Cross and from 1968, departing from Sheffield Midland to St Pancras.
