The East Lancs Railway ran their first diesel day of the year on 9th January 2010. Although unofficially a type 4 and type 5 event, the organisers opted to use Class 37/4 No. 37418 'Pectinidae' as a substitute for unavailable Class 50 No. 50015 'Valiant'. Initially used just to provide train heating, the 'Tractor' also provided some of the motive power on the station starts, much to the obvious delight of the EE type 3 fans. Here, 37418 is led into Ramsbottom by Class 55 'Deltic' No. 55022 'Royal Scots Grey' atop the 11:30 Rawtenstall to Heywood service. Canon EOS 5D, 1/400, f10, ISO200
