The way it was in the early 1990's after the DB had just taken over the DR on the Rübleandbahn in the Harz. Three former DR Class 251s, now DB 171s in Rübleand Bf on freight workings to the nearby FEL Kalk Werks. From left to right No 171 012- 8 is on the rear of a rake of empty hoppers that have just arrived, No 171 002-9 has just brought a rake of full hoppers into the Bf ready for No 171 003-7, on the right, to couple on to the rear of the train for the journey back to Blankenburg on 12th May 1994. Note all locos are still in their old DR livery.
