Pathfinders tours operated a charter train from Cardiff to Newcastle, "The Tyne Tornado", on 12 March 2009 hauled by LNER Class A1 no 60163 "Tornado" between York and Newcastle. The steam locomotive, seen here at speed passing through Northallerton with the northbound train, worked back as far as York later in the day.
