The East Lancs Railway held a Winter Diesel Day on 10th January 2009, using several of the Bury fleet of locos to operate the usual Saturday timetable. Having arrived at Rawtenstall with the 14:20 service from Heywood, BR Blue Class 47 No. 47402 'Gateshead' runs round its train of MkI stock to work the 15:40 return service.
